Silliness,fun and writing in first grade

I am a first grade teacher and I work hard to find new ways to gain the interest of my students everyday.  I have been struggling lately to get them motivated about writing.  It seems that every time we go to write, I can't get them excited and they don't put in a whole lot of effort.  I have been researching the internet on ways to get them more involved and motivated about writing and I came across this website called Be Silly, Have Fun, and Write!  http://www.gradhacker.org/2011/06/29/be-silly-have-fun-and-write/
The title caught my attention right away because it got me excited about teaching writing.  If I don't have a positive attitude then how can I expect my students to. This site offers some silly and serious prompts that get students thinking and active in the writing process.  This is a great resource for first grade.
